Booking Minimum Requirement

A minimum of four makeup services is required to book. This minimum may be fulfilled by a combination of wedding party members and/or the bride’s makeup service. Capacity is available for up to eight (8) services, if the timeline allows. To make changes to head count, you must reach out to Shy (booking coordinator/lead artist) at least 90 days before wedding date. You must meet the booking minimum of 4, or rates will be adjusted accordingly.

Bride Only Reservations

Bride-only makeup services are welcomed for intimate weddings, micro-weddings, and elopements

Hair Services

The Shy Effect does not provide hair styling at this time; however, I’m happy to recommend a trusted, detail-oriented stylist for your wedding day.

Travel

Travel is included within 30 miles of Columbus, OH. Locations beyond this range are subject to a travel fee of $1.50 per mile, calculated round trip.

For locations requiring more than two (2) hours of travel, a flat travel day rate of $250 will be added on top of services. This rate covers travel time, blocked availability, and wedding day timeline accommodations. Overnight hotel accommodations may also be required.

Out-of-State Weddings

For out-of-state weddings, a destination travel fee starting at $600 will apply in addition to all services. This fee accounts for travel time, blocked availability and timeline accommodations. Hotel accommodations, flights, and other travel expenses may be billed separately. A detailed travel estimate will be provided at the time of booking.

Second Artist Coordination

If your timeline requires additional support or has restrains, a second artist may be coordinated. A $150 coordination fee will apply.

Early Start

If services are required to start before 7:00 AM, a $75 early start fee will be applied to your invoice total.

Gratuity

Gratuity is not included in service prices. It is never expected but always appreciated. The industry standard is typically 18%–20%.

Sales Tax

Ohio Revised Code § 5739.01 defines “personal care service” broadly for purposes of sales tax. All services are subject to applicable state and local sales tax as required by law. In Ohio, personal care services such as makeup application are taxable.

Pricing

All pricing is inclusive with no hidden fees. Transparency is always my priority.

Payment

The remaining balance is due on the Monday following your wedding date and is payable through the invoice delivered via email or text. Individual or split payments are not accepted—one designated person must submit payment in a single transaction.
